GOJHL Announces Plans For Upcoming Season

The GOJHL held their Annual General Meeting (AGM), with several key changes on the slate, as well as plans for their season.

The league will return to half visors after years of wearing full shields.

The GOJHL is also currently in a battle to be re-classified as a Junior A league.

The 2021-22 GOJHL Regular Season is scheduled to begin September 24, with the season ending March 13 and playoffs beginning March 16. a GOJHL Showcase will also take place in Mid-January.

“After a very long 16-months for all of our teams, players and fans, we’re very excited to get to work on our 2021-22 season with the puck dropping on Friday, September 24th.” said GOJHL Commissioner Brent Garbutt in a league news release.  “Despite it being a few weeks later than normal, we believe this date will allow sufficient time for our players and teams to prepare while maintaining our top priority of their health and safety.”
