Tyler Davis Competing At World Junior Lacrosse Championships

Wallaceburg’s Tyler Davis will compete with Team Canada East at a revised version of the World Junior Lacrosse Championships.

The three game event, which will feature a series between Canada East and Canada West runs from August 12-14.

In 2022, the tournament will return to a 9 team format.

The games will be broadcast on TSN.

“We are very excited for the opportunity to reintroduce lacrosse to Canadian sports fans through a familiar championship that is distinctly player-centric,” said Chris Fox, and Wallaceburg product who is the President of the Canadian Lacrosse League.

“Broadcasts will also serve as a platform for the Nations who could not be in Winnipeg this summer, specifically the Haudenosaunee, whose communities have been deeply impacted by the pandemic having faced stricter lockdowns and prolonged isolation.”

Davis is currently a member of the Six Nations Arrows Junior A lacrosse team, but is a product of both the Wallaceburg Red Devils and Wallaceburg Griffins.

For the 2022 event, a new participant, Anishinabe Baagaadowewin, will enter the event. The Anishinabe Baagaadowewin lacrosse National team was founded by Walpole Island’s Isaiah Kicknosway.
