Cyclones Fall To The Dominant Sun County Panthers, See Video

By Matt Pepper

An early season viewing for the Cyclones saw a tough Panthers team come to town on September 26th.  With some exceptional goaltending and a very physical Sun County team, Chatham struggled to get on the scoreboard until late in this game.  The Cyclones had some bright spots with a late third period push, but with a strong team game from Sun County, it was not enough.  The Panthers left this game the winners of a 6 – 3 score.

Nonetheless, it was great to be back at Memorial Arena after a very long layoff from Hockey.  Very entertaining game with a lot of scoring opportunities for both teams.

Players of this game were as follows:

#97 Austin Guevremont (Sun County Forward) – Bigger play with size and a bite, strong at both ends of the rink.  Constant active sticks created turnovers and he was the recipient of a couple of assists from doing so.  Strong game from this player as he stirred the drink all night for this team.

#96 Vincent Wood (Sun County Forward) – Physical player with speed and active all night at both ends of the rink.  Two huge goals from this player from wrist shots at the top of the circle and from the slot.  Was very difficult to contain this player.

#33 Kage Bildfell (Sun County Goaltender) – Excellent showing for Bildfell.  Good skating skating who takes away the bottom of the net very quickly.  Saw pucks through traffic all game and held off the Cyclones third period push for the win.

#44 Aidan Edwards (Chatham-Kent Forward) – Good physicality and grind from this player.  Big goal late in the game from a shot from the top of the circle helped push momentum in his teams favour.

#19 Eric Bellaire (Chatham – Kent Forward) – Big late period goal with a shot from the corner that found its way into the net.  Was reliable all game and stayed well with the play with good pacing.

#94 Nick Cameron (Chatham – Kent Forward) – Quick moving forward who can carry the puck at high speed and was able to pressure the opposition on the forecheck.  His play really picked up late in the game with the Cyclones push.
