It was a long night for the Bleheim Blades when the Wheatley Sharks came to town Sunday, handing them a 5-1 defeat.

Four minutes into the 1 st period things, trailing by a goal , things got worse for the Blades when leading scorer Tate Bowden was ejected for a check from behind.

Trailing 2-0 in the second, Blenheim was handed another death blow when Seth Henderson received a major penalty and game ejection for cross checking. The Blades were able to kill of the 5 minute penalty, but were hampered offensively with the loss of a lot of their firepower.

The Blades were able to prevent a shut out for Sharks goalie Ethan Handley, when Ayden McKinlay scored at the 18:13 mark of the third.

Rookie goaltender Jake Vancoillie had a solid outing for the Blades, despite allowing 5 goals.

Sharks Ashton Anderson and Shannon Olson both scored a pair of goals, with Matt Carvalho chipping in win a single.
