Lancers Win LKSSAA Senior Basketball Title

The UCC Lancers senior girls basketball team captured the LKSSAA ‘AAA’ basketball title this week.

The Lancers defeated Sarnia St. Patrick’s 53-43 in the final, leading after each quarter. St. Patrick’s pulled within three-points heading into the fourth quarter, but UCC held them off in the final frame.

UCC was paced by Elliot Cowan who tallied 14-points. Sofia Makinen also hit double digits scoring 12-points.

Other contributors for the Lancers offense were Marissa Beselaere (9-points), Abby Denomy (7-points), and Abby Brown (6-points).

Layla Mackenzie was the top scorer for the losing St. Patrick’s Irish with 16-points.
