For the first half of 2021, sports remained nearly non-existent. A pocket of track and field stars however, kept us entertained.
Alison Stephens had a spectacular season at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, throwing several personal best and school records.
Payton Sabourin was one of the top runners and hurdlers in the Horizon League with Oakland University.
And rookies Camille Blain and Emma Pegg made their NCAA Division I debuts with Quinnipiac and Maryland respectively.
This group of Chatham-Kent athletes made headlines while the rest of the sport world slept.
Youngster Emma Negri also found her way into competition, winning Ontario gold and silver medals, and challenging records along the way.
