#4 All-Stars Take Centre Stage – CK’s Top 10 Sports Stories of 2021

The Chatham Coloured All-Stars have been a well known historic team for several years, but in 2021 the team became a hot topic again.

First, it was the push to get the team included in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.

Second, this led to one of the largest sporting events of the year in 2021, the Chatham Coloured All-Stars “Field of Honour” game in October.

The game featured two teams of ancestors from the Chatham Coloured All-Stars, who were the first ever all-Black baseball team in Canada to win a provincial title, capturing an Ontario title in 1934.

The game welcomed several hundred fans and garnered National media attention.

Organizers hope it’s enough to make the induction of the All-Stars into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame a top story of 2022.
