2021 Chatham-Kent Women’s Athlete of the Year: Breanne Nicholas
Breanne Nicholas is the 2021 CKSN Chatham-Kent Women’s Athlete of the Year.
This year’s voting was sponsored by Maple City Homes and FamilyLending.ca.
Nicholas took 28.7% of the vote, narrowly edging out runner-up Emma Negri who received 26.8% of the vote.
Nicholas represented Team Canada at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics competing with Canada’s Rugby 7s team.
To close out 2021, Nicholas was named the captain of Canada’s Rugby 7s team for the Dubai Emirates Airline Rugby Sevens tournament, where she led Canada in scoring.
Jillian Vickery was third in the vote, with Bridget Carleton and Jessie McPherson rounding out the top 5.
