Carleton Leads As Canada Punches World Cup Ticket
Bridget Carleton was Canada’s leader as Team Canada punched its ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
“We came here and did what our goal was,” Bridget Carleton said in a Basketball Canada news release. “Our goal was to qualify. Obviously, having not a lot of time together, not a lot of time with two new coaches, we’re really proud of this effort today. To win in the fashion we did and to play as a team gives us confidence going forward and going into the summer.”
Carleton was spectacular for Canada in a 96-64 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Osaka, Japan to secure Canada’s spot at the FIBA World Cup.
She scored 26-points to lead all scorers going an incredible 11-for-12 from the field, including six from beyond the three-point line.
