Burke Bechard

Dover Centre’s Burke Bechard was honoured this week with the OUA’s Joy Bellinger Award for outstanding career contributions to OUA basketball.

Bechard recently completed her fifth year of OUA competition representing the University of Guelph Gryphons.

Bechard became the first Guelph basketball player to earn the Joy Bellinger Award in 15 years.

She was also named an OUA West First Team All-Star for her incredible on court performance this season.

The 23-year-old psychology major averaged 18.1 points-per-game this season with Guelph, good for second overall in the OUA. She reached 1000 career points this season becoming only the third player in school history to reach the milestone despite missing an entire season due to the pandemic.
