Maroons Lucky To Hold On In Game One

The Chatham Maroons looked dominant, until they didn’t, in game one of the GOJHL Western Conference playoffs.

Chatham jumped out to 3-0 and 4-1 leads over the Komoka Kings before a string of undisciplined penalties saw the Maroons lose momentum, and nearly the game.

Komoka scored on two consecutive powerplays to make it 4-3, and outshot Chatham 13-7 in the final frame.

Chatham was paced by a pair of goals from Dylan Glinski, and got singles from Lucas Fancy and Nolan Miller. Nolan DeKoning made 30 saves in the win.

Game two of the series head to Komoka Saturday, before the series returns to Chatham Sunday.
