Hannah Butzer Wins Maple City Stop On Jamieson Tour
The Jamieson Tour passed the halfway mark in the season with the completion of event no 5 at Maple City Golf and Country Club in Chatham. Players enjoyed the beautifully maintained rolling course along with pleasant playing conditions.
In the Junior Girls’ Division, home course favourite Hannah Butzer (Maple City) won her second event of the season with an 81. Hannah had a steady round that included 10 pars. Hannah edged 3 time winner Vanessa Ardovini (Roseland) and Maple City native Kassandra Rombouts by a single stroke.
In the Junior Boys’ Division, pre season favourite Jax Sisson (Essex) recorded his first win of the season carding a 1 over par 73. Jax’s round included 2 birdies in the closing nine. One stroke back was Ben Buchner (Sutton Creek). Third place went to Christian Morneau (Roseland) with 75 fresh of his bronze medal finish at the Ontario Summer Games.
Kennedy Fremlin (Essex, U of W) took the Collegiate woman division carding an 83.
In the Collegiate Men’s division Steven Hill (Essex, U of W) and Colin Karpala (Beach Grove) carded identical 76’s forcing a playoff to decide the title. Steven prevailed in the playoff for his first Jamieson Tour win of the season. Nicholas Tanovich (Beach Grove, U of W) was one shot back.
The Jamieson Tour will stop at Rochester Place Thursday July 28th for the sixth event of the season.
