Brown Commits To Michigan Tech

Rylan Brown, a hockey player with ties to North Buxton, has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Michigan Tech.

Brown’s grandparents and great-grandparents are both from North Buxton. His father, Sean Brown, who was a first-round pick of the Boston Bruins and played 437 games in the NHL spent many summers in Buxton with his grandparents.

Rylan Brown currently plays in the Alberta Junior A Hockey League with the Okotoks Oilers. Through 23 games this season, the blueliner has 14 points. He was a 2020 third-round pick, 46th overall by the WHL’s Prince George Cougars, and was an 18th round pick of the USHL’s Fargo Force in 2022.

Brown will join Michigan Tech in 2024-2025.
