NHL legend Grant Fuhr was on hand to help launch Ontario’s first full-service sportsbook, less than an hour away from Chatham-Kent.

Caesars Sportsbook at Caesars Windsor celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday. The 1,618-square-foot sports betting area is located in front of Legends Sports Bar with three betting windows and seven betting kiosks. Bets can be placed on a wide range of sports including professional football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, and auto racing.

Fuhr, a Hockey Hall of Famer and retired NHL goalie, commemorated the opening by taking part in the ribbon-cutting and ceremonial first bet, with any winnings benefitting The Grant Fuhr Foundation.

Fuhr also signed some memorabilia to support Chatham Kent Hospice in a future auction.

During the grand opening event, casino officials also announced the launch of “Caesars for a Cause” with Caesars Windsor Cares donating $1 from every specialty Caesar ordered from the Drinks & Bites menu at the Legends Sports bar to The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
