Maroons fall to Stars 7-5
The Chatham Maroons started the second half of their season with a 7-5 loss to the Stars in St. Thomas on Friday night.
The Maroons opened the scoring but St. Thomas stormed back with three unanswered goals in the next four minutes of the first period.
The Maroons tied up the game 5-5 in the second period after Maroons goaltender Luka Dobrich was pulled late in the frame after allowing five goals on 20 shots.
St. Thomas went ahead 6-5 with four minutes left in the third and added an empty net goal to finish the game with a 7-5 win.
Brenden McKay, David Brown, Connor Dvorak, Liam Doyle, and Owen Sculthorp scored for Chatham.
Michael Levin scored a hat trick in the win for St. Thomas. Trevor Haslip finished the game for the Maroons in net and allowed only one goal on 11 shots.
The sixth-place Maroons will host the eighth-place Sarnia Legionnaires Sunday night at Memorial Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
