By: Wyatt Williams
The Chatham Maroons will have to settle for one point after losing 4-3 to the LaSalle Vipers in a shootout on Sunday.
Chatham was up 2-1 after goals by Noah Mathieson and Julien Gervais. Conner Tucker replied for the Vipers. Patrick McManus tied the game at 2-2 on a power play early in the second.
Newly acquired Joshua Liu put the home team up at 14:17, but with a little less than three minutes remaining, McManus scored his second of the night for the Vipers to tie the game at 3-3, forcing a seven-minute overtime.
Both teams had some good scoring chances in the OT period but could not drive in the kill shot. The Vipers would score on two of three shooters to the Maroons one of three to take the win.
Brody Gillis scored the game-winner in the shootout.
