Maroons shoot down Rockets 3-0

The Chatham Maroons shut out the Strathroy Rockets 3-0 in Junior B hockey action on Sunday at Memorial Arena.
The Maroons were on the board early in the first period with Jaxen Fortier-Smith scoring just over three minutes into the game. Forward Julien Gervais scored in the second half of the frame to bring Chatham’s lead to 2-0 heading into the next period.
Nate Dowling added another goal for the Marrons five minutes into the second.
After a scoreless third period, Chatham ended the game with the win.
Maroons goaltenders Brett Fullerton and Luka Dobrich made 19 and nine saves, respectively. Chatham also outshot Strathroy 42-28.
The Maroons will head to London on Wednesday to take on the Nationals. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Western Fair District.
