Legendary coach Ingrid Lahey to be remembered with Celebration of Life

A much-loved teacher and coach will be remembered with a Celebration of Life on Sunday.

Ingrid Lahey was know for coaching major champions in three sports; volleyball, basketball, and badminton.

She played volleyball for over 30 years and coached it for 45 years. She was the female athlete of the year at the U. of Windsor from 1970-71. Ingrid was co-founder of the still-running Ballhawks Volleyball Club ’75 and of the Spring Boys Volleyball League.

She was twice inducted into the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame.

Ingrid, who passed away at home on December 18 at age 73, was the loving wife of Dale, and mother to Cory and Scott.

Her celebration of life will take place Sunday, April 23 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Derby Room in the Retro Suites Hotel with Tribute Speeches at 2:30 p.m.
