Natasha Smids has always been a competitor when it comes to life and sports.

The Chatham native was an LKSSAA high school rugby all-star, playing for the UCC Lancers, before advancing to play OCAA rugby for the Sheridan College Bruins.

In January 2020, she was involved in a Greenhouse accident that left her paralyzed.

This past weekend, Natasha scored her first Rugby Try, while playing for Team Ontario in the Wheelchair Rugby Canadian National Championships in Moncton N.B.

Her Ontario team defeated British Columbia 39-34 in the Division II Final.

Natasha also helps locally as an assistant coach for the U.C.C. girl’s Rugby team.
