Community groups rally to repair Wallaceburg scoreboard

Community groups in Wallaceburg are fundraising to update and repair the old Scoreboard in at Andy Johnston Field.

The fundraising is being spearheaded by Wallaceburg Minor Baseball.

The scoreboard is dedicated to Mike Childs a strong community supporter who passed away in 2005. He was a community builder of Wallaceburg sports, especially baseball.

However, over time, the scoreboard has been neglected and vandalized, and is in need of repair.

The cost of replacement is $40,000. Current fundraising is at $25,000 thanks to the municipality and support of Councillor Aaron Hall and the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame.

Wallaceburg Minor Baseball is accepting donations as well as Kim Murray Insurance.
