Former Chatham Maroon Blake Blondeel has made a jump from one side of the Alberta NHL rivalry to the other side.

Blondeel, a Tilbury native, was hired earlier this year as the Edmonton Oilers’ manager of ticket sales. Blondeel took over the position in April after he spend the past four years working with the Calgary Flames as a Premium Sales Executive.

Blondeel also manages ticket sales for the Western Hockey League’s Edmonton Oil Kings, which won the league championship in 2022.
Blondeel began his junior hockey career playing for the Dresden Kings before moving up to the Chatham Maroons, where he was a solid four-year player.

After his junior career was over, Blondeel played five seasons for the University of Windsor Lancer men’s hockey program. Blondeel showed his leadership capabilities in Windsor, as he was the team’s captain his last two seasons, and was an assistant captain in his third season. He earned his bachelors and masters degrees in Human Kinetics at Windsor.

Blondeel graduated locally from École secondaire catholique de Pain Court.
