Kate Martin gets on the score sheet in Western Mustang wins

Wallaceburg’s Kate Martin, a defenceman with the Western Mustangs women’s hockey team has had a strong start to her Ontario Univesity Athletics (OUA) season, earning a point in her two most recent games as a Mustang.

Martin, a second-year nursing student, earned an assist in a 4-1 win over Toronto Metropolitan University on Oct. 20. The next day she picked up another assist on the game-winning goal in Western’s 2-1 win over York University.

She is in her first year of eligibility with the Mustangs.

Martin was last year’s Wallaceburg Sport Hall of Fame Ray Aarssen Memorial Scholarship winner.
