Kings game postponed due to death of Canadiens player
The Dresden Kings home game at Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre against the Lakeshore Canadiens scheduled for tonight has been postponed.
The reason for the postponment is the death of Canadiens player Sylvain Lessard.
Lessard joined the Canadiens earlier this season after playing for the Wheatley Sharks. Prior to playing for the Sharks, Lessard played for the Leamington Flyers.
In a statement on their social media page, the Canadiens said, “(Lessard) was a great teammate and a joy to be around at all times. His infectious smile and pleasant conversation will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lessard family and his many friends at this time.”
