Maroons continue fight against breast cancer
This Sunday’s Chatham Maroon game is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness night.
The Junior Maroons will be teaming up with The Canadian Cancer Society and The Breast Buddies to help raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer.
The Maroons will be playing the Komoka Kings this Sunday (Oct. 22) at Chatham Memorial Arena, with the game starting at 7 p.m.
The team will wear a special pink game jersey as a tribute to the survivors of breast cancer. These jerseys were donated by Dawn and Mike Wannacott of Simply Vinyl Signs and Graphics.
Post-game the jerseys will be autographed by the player wearing that jersey and then auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Breast Buddies. Players will be available for pictures after the game with the successful bidder.
The Breast Buddies will have an information table set up on the upper walkway of Memorial Arena. There will be an on-ice tribute to the Breast Buddies and Canadian Cancer society prior to the game.
