Wammes just misses out on podium finish

Bothwell’s Nick Wammes finished in fourth place in the men’s individual sprint in track cycling at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, Thursday.

Wammes lost in the bronze medal final to a Colombian track cyclist.

Wammes finished in ninth place at the 2019 Pan American Games in the individual sprint.

He won a gold medal in the men’s team sprint earlier in the week with James Hedgcock of Ancaster, Ont., and Tyler Rorke of Baden, Ont.
