Bridget Carleton was named to the Canada’s senior women’s national team roster for the upcoming FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament 2024.

The women’s team’s path to Paris continues this month in Medellín, Colombia, for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament 2024, featuring the third to sixth place finishers from the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2023. The event will take place from November 9-12 at the Coliseo Iván de Bedout.

Before making the trip to Colombia, the Senior Women’s National Team will gather in Miami, Florida for training camp from November 3-6.

Canada will face Venezuela (Thursday, Nov. 9.), host nation Colombia (Friday, Nov. 10) and Puerto Rico (Sunday, Nov. 12,). All the action will be streaming live on FIBA’s YouTube Channel.

The top two finishing teams will qualify for one of the four respective FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, which are set to take place in February. From there, 16 nations will compete for 10 tickets to the Olympic Games, in the hopes of joining France and USA, who have both already qualified.

Canada is looking to continue building upon the Senior Women’s National Team’s fourth-place finish at the World Cup last fall — the program’s best finish at the event since a third-place finish in 1986.

Canada’s senior women’s national team is currently ranked fifth in the FIBA World Rankings
