Ethan Jordan named OUA first-team all-star
After a stellar regular season, Chatham’s Ethan Jordan was honoured by being named an OUA first-team all-star on Tuesday.
The Laurier Golden Hawks receiver led the OUA in both receiving yards (749) and receptions (60) in the regular season this year.
This is familiar territory for Jordan, as he was a first-team OUA all-star last year.
Jordan was also named a second-team all-Canadian last year, as well as after leading the conference in receptions (52) and receiving yards (643) in 2022.
Jordan has been pulling double-duty in the playoffs. He was dangerous on offence in the OUA semifinal against Windsor, catching six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. Jordan did most of his damage on special teams, however, racking up 112 yards on seven punt returns, helping the Golden Hawks win the field position game.
It was the first time the third-year psychology major has been named Laurier football’s special teams player of the week, though he was named offensive player of the week three times last season.
The Golden Hawks visit the Western Mustangs for the Yates Cup at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Mustangs are ranked number one in Canada.
