Lancers compete in rugby sevens

The Ursuline Lancers girls rugby sevens team had a busy fall season, competing in four tournaments. This is the first time they took part in rugby sevens in the fall.

Their final tournament took place on October 31, hosted by Wilfred Laurier Secondary School in London.
The team went undefeated in the round robin, making it to the finals. The Lancers finished in second place. The Lancers managed to outscore their opponents 145-60 in the tournament.

The Lancers were led by nine trys by Isabella Gray, six trys by Audrey Gill, four by Victoria Matteis, three by Faith Heyink, two by Morgan Kormendy and one for Anna Koleosho, Naya Hansen, Tara Wilson, and Kaija Bartollo throughout the day.

Other players on the team include Judine Vanderveen, Brooklyn Briscoe, Chloe Haggerty, Tina Thiessen and Bailey Harvey.

Coaches said Audrey Gill and Isabella Gray were leaders on the team, scoring the majority of the points this season and taking charge of the team on the field.
