McGregor Panthers advance to OFSAA

The McGregor Panthers senior girls basketball team is going to OFSAA.

The Panthers beat Lajeunesse Royals 55-17 in the SWOSSAA senior girls A basketball final Tuesday at McGregor. With the win the Panthers advance to the OFSAA A championships being held in Belleville November 23-25.
Lajeunesse won the SWOSSAA title last year against Blenheim.

McGregor is historically one of the strongest girls’ basketball programs in the province.

They are the only SWOSSAA high school to produce a WNBA player (Bridget Carleton), They have also won OFSAA ‘AA’ titles in 1985, 1989. 1991, 1992, and 2002.

Only one SWOSSAA school has won an OFSAA ‘A’ title—Lajeunesse in 2019.
