Monsignor Uyen wins thriller to take home girls volleyball title

Monsignor Uyen Catholic School girls volleyball team outlasted Sainte-Catherine Catholic Elementary School, winning a thriller 3-2 to win the girls volleyball Catholic Chatham elementary school title on Wednesday night.

Monsignor Uyen won the first two sets (25-13, 25-15) before dropping the next two (20-25, 15-25) before winning the final set (15-8),

Monsignor Uyen coach Kim Wieringa said it was five great games.

“They all played their hearts out,” Wieringa said.

Sainte-Catherine almost pulled off the comeback,

“They had us on our toes, but we fought back to the end. Very proud of the girls who worked hard,” Wieringa said.
