Three Ballhawks teams earn Bronze medals

Three Chatham-Kent Ballhawks girls volleyball teams won bronze medals in OVA tournament play on the weekend.

U14 Soar

Won bronze at the OVA 14u Challenge Cup Championship A played in Chatham at Chatham-Kent Secondary School.

In the bronze medal match the U14 girls bea the Kitchener-Waterloo Predators 2-1 (25-18, 19-25, 15-6). In the semi-finals Forest City Mahogany beat Chatham-Kent 2-0 (19-25, 19-25).

In the quarterfinals, Chatham-Kent won 2-1 over South County Black (25-20-21-25, 15-7).

In pool play Chatham-Kent won 2-1 over Burlington Defensa Purple (25-7, 21-25, 15-7); and lost 0-2 to South County Teal (20-25, 18-25).

U13 Fierce

The U13 girls Fierce beat Rose City Red 2-0 (25-17, 25-20) in the bronze medal match-up at the OVA Challenge Cup 14U Trillium A held in Windsor.

In pool play the Ballhawks won 2-1 (25-11, 23-25, 15-8) over the London Sharks and lost 1-2 against Rose City Red (25-15, 11-25, 9-15).They beat the Ballhawks Fly 2-0 (25-15, 25-11) in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals the Ballhawks were stymied 0-2 by the St. Thomas Express (19-25, 22-25).

U18

The Chatham-Kent Ballhawks finished with a Bronze at the OVA U18 Challenge Cup Championship A held in London, defeating Brampton Pakmen Black 2-0 in the Bronze Medal matchup (26-24, 25-18).4

The Ballhawks split in pool play, winning 2-0 against the Oakville Thunder (25-22, 25-23) and losing 0-2 to Forest City Helios (23-25, 14-25).

In the quarterfinals, Chatham-Kent won 2-1 against Stratford (25-20, 9-25, 18-16) and lost 0-2 to London LVC Inferno in the semi-finals (19-25, 7-25).
