Anyone who has spent time at Chatham-Kent’s hockey rinks knew who Aaron Jubenville was.

Jubenville, who died on Christmas Day in 2019, was known for his support of local hockey teams, and was called the heart and soul of Tilbury.

In his honour the Tilbury Bluebirds team will host the second annual Aaron Jubenville Memorial game on Saturday (December 30) against the Petrolia Squires in a WOSHL match-up.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Bringing at least 50 pop tabs to the game will get you $2 off the $10 ticket price.

Last year’s Aaron Jubenville game was well-attended, as 750 fans packed the Tilbury arena.

Along with being a big supporter of local hockey, Jubenville was also a community volunteer, known for collecting pop tabs for Tabs 4 Kids, an organization that uses them for wheelchairs. The group sells the aluminum tabs to a recycling depot and uses the funds to purchase wheelchairs.
