Barnstormers home opener set for May 18

Mark your calendars, the Intercounty Baseball League released their 2024 schedule on Wednesday.

The Intercounty Baseball League is celebrating its 105th season in 2024, ushering in a new era of nine teams by welcoming the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers.

Highlights for Barnstormers fans:

– May 17: Chatham-Kent’s first-ever game will be played on the road in Brantford.

– May 18: Chatham-Kent’s home opener at Fergie Jenkins Field against Kitchener Panthers. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

– July 1: Chatham-Kent will host a Canada Day game versus Toronto Maple Leafs

– Guelph, Chatham-Kent, London and Welland will host Canada Day games

– The All-Star showdown will take place on July 20 in Welland

– August Civic Holiday will see a Monday matchup between Chatham-Kent and London at London’s historic Labatt Memorial Park.

– Regular season concludes with three afternoon games on August 18. The Barnstormers will be in Toronto.

– Overall, the Barnstormers play 21 home games. Nine games will take place on Saturday, three on Tuesdays, one on Monday (Canada Day), six on Sunday, and two on Fridays.
