Maroons shuffle roster, get younger
It’s that time of year when junior hockey teams move around players as they set their roster for the rest of the season.
The Chatham Maroons are no different, making a few changes to their roster recently. Already one of the the GOJHL’s youngest teams is now younger.
The Maroons traded forward Brendan Gouin to LaSalle for defenceman Josh Harding. A trio of veterans were moved to the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Forward Ayden McKinlay and defenceman Cameron Robertson were added to the the Blenheim Blades, while defenceman Aidan Hill went to the Wheatley Sharks.
The Maroons currently have no 20-year-olds on their roster and just two 19-year-olds. Currently, the Maroons have 10 rookies on their roster.
The Maroons lost 4-3 to London on the road Wednesday night. They host St. Thomas at Chatham Memorial Arena on Sunday, game time is 7 p.m.
