Stonehouse aiming for another gold
Blenheim’s Abby Stonehouse and her Team Canada teammates will be gunning for gold at the IIHF under-18 women’s world championship.
The championship gets underway Saturday in Zug, Switzerland.
For Stonehouse and eight of her teammates, it will be an opportunity to go for a second straight gold medal.
Canada plays Germany in its opening game at 2 p.m. (EST). The Canadians will play Czechia on Sunday and Finland on Tuesday in the preliminary round. Both games begin at 2 p.m.
The quarter-finals are Thursday, Jan. 11, the semifinals are Saturday, Jan. 13, and the medal games are Sunday, Jan. 14.
