Gorski helps lead Robert Morris to playoff berth

Wallaceburg’s Emma Gorski, a goaltender with the Robert Morris University Colonials, had a historic game on the weekend.

Gorski officially now owns the single-game save record in RMU program history with 65 saves against Penn State in a 4-3 overtime win on Saturday. That number ties Allie Kelley of Syracuse for the CHA season-high and ties former RIT netminder Taylor Liotta, for sixth place on the CHA single-game saves list.

The win over the ranked opponent helped Robert Morris earn a playoff berth.

The game was significant for Gorski, as it was Senior Night, and her family was on hand to watch her outstanding performance.

“It was amazing having my family here,” said Gorski. “I love every chance I get to step in the crease. It was an electric feeling to win this game on senior day.”

The 22-year-old Gorski is a graduate student at RMU and it’s her first year playing for the Colonials after transferring from Merrimack, where she played 83 games over the past four years.

RMU is now 12-17-1 overall and 9-8-1 in conference games.
