Pain Court and Wallaceburg swimmers qualify for OFSAA

The SWOSSAA swimming championships were held in Windsor on Feb. 20 at the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre.

Every Wallaceburg Tartan and Pain Court Patriotes swimmer advanced to the SWOSSAA meet.
To make SWOSSAA, swimmers had to be in the top 30 qualifying times or win their event at LKSSAA.

Many of the WDSS and ESPC swimmers are moving on to OFSAA championships in Scarborough on March 5 and 6.
To qualify for OFSAA, swimmers either had to be SWOSSAA champions or make the OFSSA time standard. Here is a summary of the results for ESPC and WDSS.

WDSS OFSAA Qualifiers-

Leah Hazzard – 50 Back (2nd) (Leah also placed 4th in the 100IM)

Bree Eddleston – 100 Breast (4th) and 100 IM (4th)

Lauren DePooter – 100 Breast (5th) , 100 IM (5th) and 50Fly (3rd)

Brock Mathieson – 50 Free (4th), 50 Back (1st) and 100IM (2nd)

Pain Court (ESPC) OFSAA qualifiers

Xavier Caron – 50 Free (3rd) , 100 free (3rd) and 200 medley relay (FR) (2nd)

Eric Qiu – 50 breast (7th), 200 medley relay (BR) (Eric also came 4th in the 100IM)

Xandre Aitken – 100 Free (5th) and 200 Medley relay (FR) (2nd)

Payton Rinas – 100 back (2nd) and 100 IM (3rd) (Payton also came 4th in the 50FR)

Cameron Schinkelshoek – 50 free (4th), 200 IM (1st) and 200 medley relay (FL)(2nd)

Gavin Schinkelshoek – 50 Free (2nd), 100 Back (1st) and 200 medley relay (BK) (2nd)

ESPC also had a 4x100m Free relay qualify with Cameron and Gavin Schinkelshoek, Xavier Caron and Xandre Aitken but due to event limitations, will not be able to swim it at OFSAA. (2nd).
