Tilbury Bluebirds start playoffs on Saturday

The Tilbury Bluebirds open up their playoff season on Saturday.

The Western Ontario Super Hockey League first-round schedule is now set. Tilbury (15-9), as the third seed, will take on the sixth seed Woodstock Lakers (14-10).

The best-of-five series starts with Game One Saturday night at Tilbury Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Game Two is Friday, March 8 in Tilbury. Game Three is Saturday, March 9 in Woodstock, and Game Four (if necessary) will take place on Sunday, March 10.

If a Game Five is needed, it will be held in Tilbury on March 13.

In two matchups this season, Tilbury won both games against Woodsrock 9-1 and 8-2.

Woodstock has some offensive firepower, as Lakers Kevin Hu (69 points) and Christian Polillo (57 points) were the top two point getters in the WOSHL.

Tilbury’s Dylan Denomme and Sammy Banga led their team in points with 46.
