Chatham Maroons captain Blain Bacik was named to the GOJHL Western Conference all-star team.

Bacik has been a rock-solid defenceman for the Maroons.

In 47 games, Bacik scored 10 goals and added 23 assists for 33 points, which was fifth on the team. More importantly, he provided leadership, toughness and ate up a lot of minutes on Chatham’s blueline. This was Bacik’s third year with the Maroons. He has two seasons of junior eligibility remaining.

Chatham’s Tre Altiman, who plays goalie for the LaSalle Vipers was also named to the conference all-star team. In his second season in LaSalle, Altiman played in 38 games, with a 2.62 goals against average and a 92.7 save percentage, which was second-best in the GOJHL.

Others who made the Western Conference all-star team were; defenceman Adam Barkley (St. Mary’s) and forwards Lucas Chard (London), Ethan Facchina (Strathroy) and Briir Long (St. Thomas).

Former Maroon Cohen Bidgood, who was traded to St. Mary’s mid-season, was named to the Western Conference all-rookie team.
