GOJHL realigns divisions
Changes are coming to the GOJHL for the 2024-25 season.
The league announced today it is shifting from three conferences – West, Midwest, and Golden Horseshoe, to two.
The realignment will place the Chatham Maroons in the same division as teams such as Elmira, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Stratford, as well as other former Western Conference squads.
The 2024-25 season will include a 50-game schedule with the top e8ght teams in each conference earning a spot in the playoffs.
“Realignment is something that the GOJHL has been looking at for the past few seasons, going to 2 conferences makes the regular season significantly more important and it also eliminates the 3 team Round Robin that was in place for the last 3 seasons,” said interim Commissioner Tim Simmons in a news release.
Officials say the names of the two conferences and details on scheduling will be released in the coming weeks.
