Barnstormers going for fifth-straight win tonight

The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are in a good spot, as they are currently on a four-game winning streak.

The Barnstormers had a terrific weekend, defeating Welland 11-5 on Sunday. Seth Strong hit his 13th home run this season in the win.

On Saturday, the Barnstormers swept a doubleheader, beating Hamilton 8-4 and 2-1. On Friday, the Barnstormers defeated Brantford 7-6,

At just a little past halfway through the season, the expansion Barnstormers have a 12-15 record.

Offensively the Barnstormers have been one of the IBL’s top teams. Spencer Marcus has a .390 batting average, which leads the IBL, Seth Strong is third among league leaders hitting .369, Daniel Battel is hitting .319. Braxton Haggith is just 21 years-old, but is having a solid season with a .291 BA and three home runs.

Mitsuki Fukuda has a .397 batting average, but doesn’t quite have enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting title yet.

Tonight (July 16), the Barnstormers host the London Majors at Fergie Jenkins Field. On the weekend the Barnstormers will travel to Hamilton on Friday and the legendary Christie Pits in Toronto on Sunday.
