Barnstormers’ Strong named IBL player of the month

This Seth Stong guy can hit the snot out of the baseball.

The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced on July 3 that Chatham-Kent Barnstormers third basemen Seth Strong was named the Rawlings Player of the Month for June.

Affectionally known as The Panda, Strong batted .386 (22 for 57) with seven home runs and 20 RBI in June.

Strong leads the IBL in home runs and RBIs, and is fourth in batting average.

Honorable mentions went to Canice Ejoh of the Barrie Baycats who batted .408 (20 for 49) with a home run, five RBI, and six stolen bases. Pitcher Ben Abram of the Welland Jackfish who went 3-0 on the month with an ERA of 2.86 with 25 strikeouts.
