Matt Cousins golf tournament raises funds for local lacrosse

The Matt Cousins Memorial golf tournament held on May 25 at Hidden Hills Golf Course helped raise $75,000 to help local lacrosse organizations.

The tournament recently donated $35,000 to the Wallaceburg Griffins minor lacrosse organization and $35,000 to the Wallaceburg Red Devils Junior B lacrosse team.

Additionally, the golf tournament donated $5,000 to the Leave Your Mark Lacrosse organization, which trains lacrosse players, hosts lacrosse camps and introduces kids to the game. Leave Your Mark Lacrosse is run by Cousins’ former long-time coach Jamie Knight.

Cousins died in May of 2023. He played for the Red Devils and was developed by the Wallaceburg minor lacrosse organization. The tournament was held to honour Cousins memory and legacy.
