Sunday night is Maroons hockey night

The Chatham Maroons released their home schedule last week for the upcoming Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League regular season.

In a nutshell, from mid-September to March 9, the Maroons will be playing every Sunday night at Chatham Memorial Arena starting at 7 p.m. However, there are a couple of exceptions.

With the Detroit Lions likely to play in the NFL Super Bowl on February 9, the Maroons wisely did not schedule a game for that Sunday night. Additionally, there is no game on Sunday, October 13, and December 29 due to the holidays. There will also be no game on January 26, as there is a possibility of a Lions playoff football game.

The Maroons will play three home games on Thursday nights– October 10, January 23 and January 30.

The Maroons begin their GOJHL regular season on Sept. 15 with a home game at Chatham Memorial Arena against the Komoka Kings.

The Maroons’ Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League regular-season schedule includes 50 games.

The Maroons are now in the realigned Western Conference.

Stratford, Kitchener-Waterloo, Listowel and Elmira joined Chatham, Sarnia, LaSalle, London, Strathroy, St. Marys, St. Thomas and Komoka in the new 12-team Western Conference.
