Moninger named Lambton student-athlete of the week

Wallaceburg’s Avery Moninger was named Lambton College’s female student-athlete of the week for her efforts with the Lions’ women’s softball team.

Moninger, a second-year pitcher and infielder, threw in all four games last weekend with a 1-1 record and 13 strikeouts in 14.2 innings. She tossed a complete-game shutout in a 4-0 win over St. Clair.

Moninger’s sister Meagan is an outfielder on Lambton’s softball team. Both of the Moninger’s graduated from Wallaceburg District Secondary School.
