Carleton aiming for WNBA title
Chatham’s Bridget Carleton is two games away from a WNBA title.
Her Minnesota Lynx team won an exciting 95-93 overtime Game 1 on Thursday night over the New York Liberty. The Lynx now lead the best-of-five series 1-0.
Carleton, a starter with the Lynx, had five points, three rebounds and one assist for the Lynx. She played 37:26, the third-most minutes on the team.
Minnesota trailed by as many as 18 points in the first half and by 15 with just under five minutes remaining in regulation time.
Game 2 of the series is Sunday night.
To advance to the final, the Lynx defeated the Conneticut Sun in the semifinals to advance to the finals.
