Durston and Davis sign pro lacrosse contracts
A pair of Wallaceburg lacrosse players signed with National Lacrosse League teams for next season.
Jordan Durston signed a one-year deal with San Diego Gulls, while Tyler Davis inked a one-year contract with the Halifax Thunderbirds
The 30 year-old Durston didn’t play in the NLL last year. He has played six years of professional lacrosse with Vancouver, Buffalo, New England and Albany.
In 92 NLL games, Durston has 92 goals, 128 assists and 220 points.
He played his junior lacrosse in Six Nations and Wallaceburg.
This past season Durston played Senior B lacrosse for the Six Nations Rivermen. In 18 regular season and playoff games with Six Nations, Durston scored 18 goals and added 33 assists for 51 points.
Former Wallaceburg minor lacrosse player Zach Herreweyers played seven games for Six Nations and added 21 points.
Six Nations won the Ontario Senior B lacrosse title and advanced to the President’s Cup held in Ladner B.C. Six Nations finished with a 2-3-1 record at the Canadian championshp.
Davis, 22, spent his junior lacrosse career with the Six Nations Arrows, where he had 35 goals and 111 points in 35 career games. He also played junior in Wallaceburg.
Davis appeared in three Senior B games for the Six Nations Rivermen this past summer, where he had three goals and seven points.
Davis entered the NLL Draft back in 2022, where he was selected in the second round (42nd overall) by New York. He appeared in one game for the Riptide during the 2022-2023 season.
