Martin finds the scoresheet

Wallaceburg’s Kate Martin, a defenceman with the Western Mustangs women’s hockey team, scored a goal in a 3-2 loss against Brock on the weekend.

It was Martin’s first goal at the university level.

Last year, Martin earned four assists for the Mustangs in 24 games.

A second-year player for Western, Martin made the team as a walk-on, earning her way onto the team through try-outs.

Overall, the Western women’s hockey team has a 6-9 record on the season.
