Montour gives back to Tilbury Area Public School
A Tilbury elementary school is launching a new student skating program thanks to a recent donation from an NHL all-star and former CK resident.
NHL player and recent Stanley Cup champion Brandon Montour has donated 50 brand-new skates, helmets, and gloves to Tilbury Area Public School through the NHL Players’ Association.
Montour spent part of his childhood in Tilbury and played for the Chatham-Kent AAA Cyclones.
According to the Lambton Kent District School Board, Montour wanted to find a meaningful way to give back to the local school of which he was a former student. It was ultimately decided that a skating program would be the perfect initiative
The board said the donation provides essential equipment that will open up new opportunities for students to engage in physical activity and learn new skills on the ice.
