It took a year, but the Lancers finally got their revenge, beating Windsor Holy Names 73-71 in the senior SWOSSAA AAA championship on Feb. 20. in Chatham.

Last year the Lancers lost in the SWOSSAA final to Holy Names. It was considered an upset, as UCC earned a silver medal in the 2023 OFSAA AAA boys basketball tournament held in Sarnia.

Holy Names was favoured in this year’s SWOSSAA final. They had a number of players back from last year’s team which was seeded second overall and finished with a bronze medal at last year’s provincial AAA tournament.

With the win, the Lancers now advance to the OFSAA AAA boys basketball tournament being held March 3-5 in Kingston.
